FAQ

Will your software work in 'x' host?

Check the Host DAW Support table for each product page to determine if that product will work in your host. Always read this before buying the software, as we do not offer refunds for software under any circumstances.

Will your software work when using a VST->AU Wrapper?

No. Audio Units does not provide for MIDI Out from a plug-in. Consequently, none of the VST->AU wrappers support MIDI out from a plug-in. Our newer VST-AU version plug-ins will natively work in Audio Unit hosts as these products allow you to select the MIDI ports indepently.

What makes the VST-AU Editor Series™ different from other MIDI editors/librarians?

The VST-AU Editor Series™ editors allows you to work inside your favorite music production host DAW. This allows the user to manage the hardware in the same environment that the music is made in. Consequently, this gives the user the ability to craft the patch sound along with the music it is being crafted for. More over, you can automate any parameter inside your sequence, in sync with your track. You can also name your patches and store them as .fxb/.fxp presets for instant recall. There is also the difference in GUI quality, with graphics that relate and enhance the original hardware itself.

What VST version are the VST Editor Series™ plugins?

The VST Editor Series™ architecture is built on the VST 2.4 framework.

This is cool, but I don't see an editor for my synth?

reKon audio is a fairly new company. Our VST-AU Editor Series is growing quickly. If you don't see an editor for your synth, please send us a line to let us know you would like to see one for it. If we see a particular demand for it, we will follow up on it.

Can I temporarily donate my synth so that you can make an editor for it?

Yes. Since we need the actual synth on-site to create and test our editors, we do accept donations for temporary use of some synthesizers to create new editor products. If you would like to consider donating your synth for temporary use in order for us to create an editor for it, please contact us (it will be returned to you safely in the same condition as it arrived, at no charge and you will receive a free copy of the software). The loan time required will vary, but usually is no more than 3-8 weeks. The sender is required to cover the shipping cost of sending the unit to us. reKon audio will cover the return shipping costs.

Are upgrades free?

All release updates of the same version are free (i.e. from version 1.2 to 1.3). Version upgrades (i.e. 1.3 to 2.0) are offered at a reduced rate for existing, registered users. Please contact us to obtain the update and provide us with your user email, purchase date, order number and platform you purchased software for. We cannot provide updates without this information.

How do I get updates for my software?

All registered owners of our software products receive update information (or the update itself) at the email address they registered when purchasing the software. If your email address has changed, you need to update it in your registration. If you purchased software from us before 12-01-2008, you will not be in the system as a registered site user, so please create an account, and send us your receipt (transaction ID number), date purchased and product and platform you purchased the software for via email. We will review the information and send out the appropriate update. If the update is a version upgrade, you will be emailed the update once payment has been received.

The support I need is not here. Where do I get it?
